After the successful premiere last year, the HWG LU also provided a team for this year's church boat regatta in Speyer - easily recognizable by the black graduate hats with the university logo.
The competition has been held every year since 2008 at the end of June/beginning of July in the Old Harbour in Speyer and is organized by the Speyer 1883 e.V. rowing club. A total of 27 teams took part this year, competing against each other in two identical boats in an ingenious system.
The HWG LU team, which included representatives from Departments, administration and university management, achieved an impressive 13th place with a time of 51.5 seconds over 200 meters. Despite the adverse weather conditions, both the active rowers and the colleagues from the university who were cheering them on had a lot of fun at the regatta.
