Practical project with the Project "Strengthening consumers in the neighborhood" in Ludwigshafen-Oggersheim-West of the Rhineland-Palatinate Consumer Center e. V. in the subject of media planning (Bachelor's degree program in Marketing) in the Innovation Lab in Ludwigshafen
In the winter semester, two social projects took place in the subject "Media Planning" (Prof. Rüger-Muck) with students of the 2nd and 3rd semester of the Bachelor Marketing with the location of the consumer advice center in Ludwigshafen - Oggersheim-West.
The consumer advice center in Ludwigshafen is one of the nationwide locations that support the "Strengthening consumers in the neighborhood" project. This project supports vulnerable consumer groups who require a high level of protection in everyday consumer life in a variety of ways.
In both projects, the marketing students focused on the target group "adolescents" and "young adults" from educationally disadvantaged families, some of whom grow up in a difficult environment in Ludwigshafen-Oggersheim-West and are particularly susceptible to consumer traps. The aim of the projects was to develop suitable formats for the consumer advice center to address this target group, which is not easy to reach, to review and, if necessary, optimize existing communication material and to come up with new information formats, particularly for Oggersheim schools.
The students had several topics to choose from, including the development of information events on the topic of signing a contract, such as when choosing a cell phone contract, or the topic of social media with regard to points that need to be considered when it comes to data protection. Another topic included the appropriate selection of insurance policies and an overview of finances. The students worked on these topics in groups and then presented the results to the staff of the "Empowering consumers in the neighborhood" project in the form of a final presentation.
