On November 12, 2020, the world's leading industry trade fair transport logistic launched the first global, digital meeting place for the logistics industry - with Prof. Dr. Stefan Iskan from HWG LU as moderator
Due to the global coronavirus pandemic, all trade fairs in the transport logistic network had to be canceled this year. With the Global Webinar Day, industry representatives were therefore offered a digital alternative to meet virtually in one day across all time zones and exchange knowledge. To this end, various webinars were held on November 12, 2020 at the six transport logistic / air cargo locations around the world. Decision-makers and experts from the logistics industry shared their latest assessments and provided valuable market insights. They were also available to answer participants' questions interactively and discussed opportunities and challenges in the market with them.
One of six moderators worldwide was Dr. Stefan Iskan, Logistics Professor in the Services & Consulting Department at HWG LU. He moderated a panel with a member of the board of Turkish Airlines Cargo, among others, and spoke about Turkey's role as a future hub for geo-strategically important Eurasia.
The other webinars also focused on a specific region: China started with the topic: "Chinese logistics for a growing e-commerce market". This was followed by the organizers in India with the question "When will India become a formidable power in the global air cargo market?". Representatives from Turkey discussed "What are the chances for Turkey to be the logistics hub of the Eurasian Region?". Participants from South Africa learned interesting facts about "Future forward - what does it take for Africa to create a competitive landscape for air cargo?". In Europe, the focus was on "A six months outlook - how are economy and supply chains developing?". The USA formed the Degree of the transport logistic exhibitions Global Webinar Day 2020 with an outlook on "Trends that will shape the growth of air cargo business in the Americas post pandemic".
