Examination regulations
This page summarizes some of the most important points of the current examination regulations for the degree program in International Business Administration with a concentration in Management. No legal claim can be derived from this.
Missing exams
An examination will be graded as "insufficient"(5.0) or "failed" in the case of:
- Absence without valid reasons
- Withdrawal without valid reasons after the start of an examination
- Failure to hand in an examination paper on time
An examination may be graded "unsatisfactory" in the case of:
- Deception or use of unauthorized aids
- Exclusion from the examination due to disruption
In the case of illness, a certificate must be submitted immediately, i.e. by the 3rd day after the examination date at the latest, to the chairman of the examination board via the examination office, containing at least the following information:
- Duration of the illness,
- Dates of medical treatment,
- the nature and extent of the illness, stating the findings of fact made by the doctor on the basis of his or her own observations (it is not necessary to state the diagnosis), and
- Effects of the illness on the examinations.
Repeat exams
- Each examination can be repeated 2x in case of failure.
- A thesis graded with "not sufficient" can be repeated once.
- Repeat attempts must be made in the following semester.
- During the course of study, an examination may be repeated in order to improve the grade. However, this exam must be passed and repeated in the following semester.
Registration for examination services
Each examination must be registered (also the "successful participation"). Registration takes place within a certain period of time via the PC pools (the so-called "exam registration period"). The period will be announced via OLAT, among others. Registration is binding and can ONLY be done during the exam registration period. Subsequent registration is not possible!
Deregistration from an exam will only be accepted up to 10 days before the respective exam.
Recognition of achievements from other universities
- The recognition must be applied for before the exam registration.
- For already registered examinations there is no possibility to recognize them afterwards.
- Only modules can be recognized. Partial recognition is not possible.
- "Passed" performances without a grade will be evaluated with 4.0.
- Once grades have been recognized, this performance can no longer be improved.
Assessment of examination performance
- very good 1.0; 1.3
- good 1.7; 2.0; 2.3
- satisfactory 2.7; 3.0; 3.3
- sufficient 3.7; 4.0
- insufficient 5.0
In addition and independent of the respective grade, the designated credits are awarded. To determine the overall grade, the grades of the individual modules and the final thesis are multiplied by the respective credit points. The sum of the weighted grades is then divided by the sum of the credit points.
