Testimonials
Impulses & Aha experiences
"Dr. Henn understands how to present the findings of her doctoral thesis on topics such as the compatibility of family and private life, as well as women in leadership, in a comprehensible manner and to underpin them with practical examples in such a way that they are both entertaining and make a lasting impression on the memory. In this way, she has not only created clarity about the basic concepts and their meaning, but has also encouraged women to make career and family life a joint task for men and women, and to approach women with more self-confidence with regard to their career opportunities. In this way, Dr. Henn provided me with many impulses, aha-experiences and one or two smiles, which in my opinion made her a valuable addition to the university with her guest professorship."

Changing some patterns of thinking
"Many thanks for the interesting series of lectures by Dr. Monika Henn - I was able to take away a lot for myself, both in my professional and private life. In her lectures on the topic of women and leadership, Dr. Henn provided a lot of new food for thought and encouraged women to confidently pursue their professional goals without having to give up starting a family. The lectures and the study presented give hope that by changing some thought patterns, (even) more women will embark on a management career."

Think Manager - think Female
This is an - admittedly - accentuated description of the long-standing focus of the work of Doctor Monika Henn, the 38th Klara Marie Faßbinder Visiting Professor, on "Women and Leadership". Having made a conscious decision not to pursue an academic career after successfully completing her doctorate is what links Henn, who holds a degree in psychology, with the namesake of the Rhineland-Palatinate Visiting Professorship for Women's and Gender Studies. Henn has now returned to academia for a semester and, based on her practical experience as a trainer and coach, imparted psychological expertise and gender competence for gender-appropriate and gender-sensitive leadership behavior to students as future managers and HR managers. The latter is a key competence that will undoubtedly be standard in professional life, business and society in the near future. If many female students, inspired by Dr. Henn, also focus more on "The Art of Advancement" and "empower" themselves, then another expectation that the State Conference of University Women associates with the guest professorship will have been fulfilled once again with this award to the HWG Ludwigshafen.

Statement by Prof. Dr. Thomaschewski
Prof. Dr. Dieter Thomaschewski - Member of the Search Committee.
What expectations did you have of the visiting professorship?
My expectations were linked to the objective of the KMF visiting professorship - women and gender studies
- Raising awareness among our students about the challenges of promoting women
- Providing tips and solutions for dealing with the challenges
- Implementation of thought-provoking impulses from a professional coach in practice-oriented seminar papers "Ideas come to life"
Why do you think it is important, particularly from a business perspective, to address the topic of women and gender research?
If you look at the professional development of women in management positions in medium-sized and large companies, you realize that some progress has been made in recent years, but certainly not enough. Developing and utilizing the potential of women is still a core task in personnel management. Management must face up to this responsibility in all areas. In this way, it will be possible to better recognize the potential of women for companies and at the same time further strengthen the self-confidence of women.
What will remain of the Klara Marie Faßbinder Visiting Professorship at the Department?
Thanks to the broad external impact, supported by intensive communication, the Department has achieved important goals
- the topic was not only addressed, but courses of action were pointed out
- the "sponsorship" of women's studies is linked to the Department
- the approaches and tips can and are incorporated into the lectures
Statement by Prof. Dr. Raum / Equal Opportunities Officer of HWG
What expectations do you have of the visiting professorship?
The following goals for the visiting professorship are defined by the Ministry of Science and Health:
- strengthen the reputation of this field of research,
- provide impetus for women's and gender research
- to expand the range of courses on offer
- facilitate networking between academia and students.
My expectations were based on these goals and were not disappointed.
Why do you think it is important to address the topic of women and gender research, especially from an economic point of view?
In my perception, women's and gender research is a rather marginal scientific field in economics, although there are obvious issues in the economy, such as the gender pay gap or the women's quota. With her focus on "leadership", Dr. Henn has taken up another topic relevant to gender studies and, in her lectures for universities of applied sciences, has linked research and practice in an ideal way and made it accessible to students.
What will remain of the Klara Marie Faßbinder Visiting Professorship at the Departments?
As Equal Opportunities Officer, I would like to express my hope that the other economic Departments will now also see the Klara Marie Faßbinder Visiting Professorship as an opportunity to provide impetus in the field of women's and gender studies at our university.
Statement Dr. Henn
The request for the guest professorship from Prof. Dr. Eveline Häusler came as a surprise and at short notice, but I was very pleased and honored.
The three lectures, which I designed to build on each other, were great fun. Fortunately, the first lectures were hybrid, so it was possible to get to know each other personally.
The collaboration and exchange with everyone involved was very beneficial. I worked with Prof. Dr. Dieter Thomaschewski and Dr. Peter Möbius on the seminar "Competence in Human Resources Management". I held the seminar "Self-management and sustainable leadership" with Prof. Dr. Jasmina Stoebel.
The contact with the students was interesting and inspiring for me. I was particularly pleased with their interest. So it was a matter of course for me to continue offering my support in the future.
All in all, the Klara Marie Faßbinder guest professorship was an enriching experience for me, which I also enjoyed very much.
