OFF//FOTO 2020 Rediscover Brutalism!

CANCELED #COVID-19

A photographic, performative and musical exploration of the Ludwigshafen university building in Maxstraße in cooperation with the Deutsche Staatsphilharmonie Rhineland-Palatinate

Exhibition in the Maxstraße/Ludwigshafen university building 18.4.-31.5.

Most people don't like the building at first - they spontaneously describe it as ugly, bulky and inhospitable: we're talking about the Ludwigshafen university building at Maxstraße 29 - a Brutalist-style building erected at the end of the 1960s.
Students on the BA "Social Work" degree programs based there have explored the building using photographic, performative and musical means, thereby developing a new perception and perspective of the university building. This appropriation process will be presented in an exhibition in the form of a tour through the Brutalist building, so that visitors can also get to know the building from the inside. This will be accompanied by a live musical composition. This consists exclusively of sounds that can be elicited from the building as a body of sound.
