On Saturday, November 23, 2019, the Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society (HWG LU) invited all interested parties to an "Open Day" on the campus at Ernst-Boehe-Straße 4 in 67059 Ludwigshafen from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm: On the first floor of the A-building, the university presented itself and its wide range of courses in the fields of economics, social sciences and healthcare. In addition to presentations of the degree programs, the four Departments and the university facilities, the "Open Day" at the university in Ludwigshafen had a lot to offer: Taster lectures and information lectures, campus tours, visits to the library or canteen as well as several activity stands such as the sensory stand of the Viticulture & Oenology degree program based in Neustadt, the wheel of fortune of University Communications or the photo action stand of the Alumni Office. The Departments of Social and Health Care, the Neustadt Wine Campus and the East Asia Institute (OAI) located on the Rhine promenade, as well as the Rhine-Neckar Graduate School, the Center for Scientific Continuing Education (ZWW), the International Office and the Alumni Office were also on site to answer the questions of around 500 interested guests. The BaföG office and the Deutschlandstipendium scholarship also provided information about student financing options.
The information presentations "Social work ... study! Information on the content and structure of the Bachelor's degree course in Social Work" with Prof. Dr. Peter Rahn and Norman Böttcher and "Study offers of the Marketing and Human Resources Management Department" by Prof. Dr. Klaus Blettner. However, the other taster lectures and short presentations on subjects such as business informatics, controlling, business administration, health economics and the university's East Asia Institute (OAI) were also very popular.
For all prospective students who are not yet sure which career direction to take, the Study & Education department also offered a workshop lasting several hours in which the strengths and weaknesses of the participants were worked out together and compared with the requirements of certain fields of study.
