It took many people involved, a great deal of commitment and several years for a "project close to the heart" at HWG LU to be realized and inaugurated this week: The new creative space for students!
At the official inauguration last Tuesday, the Friends' Association, as the source of the idea and financier, was delighted that funds accumulated during the pandemic could be invested wisely. The university's start-up office also played a key role in the implementation. Head Prof. Dr. Christina Stadler reported with shining eyes on how she got the room concept off the ground together with students.
The result is impressive: Upholstered furniture and a staircase seating area, carpet and green plants as well as a wealth of digital equipment create a special environment and atmosphere that invites up to 28 people individually or in groups to let their minds wander and develop creative ideas.
"When you, dear students, entered the room today, I was able to look into curious, amazed and enthusiastic faces. That makes us proud! After all, a donation of 20,000 euros is something very special for a small association like ours," said Tatjana Kamrad, Chairwoman of the association. She symbolically handed over the new room to AStA Chair Viktoria Fayl, from which the students will benefit from now on. University President Prof. Dr. Gunther Piller was also present and expressed his sincere thanks to those responsible for the support association and the founding office.
Tatjana Kamrad added: "I would also like to say THANK YOU to the members of our support association - many of them alumni, students and representatives from the business world - who make it possible to achieve something at this university! Such heartfelt projects are only possible thanks to people who get involved and do good with their membership of the association."
Numerous students took the opportunity to take a look at "their" new room at the start of the semester. There was champagne and free pizza and waffles to celebrate the day.
