On 09.09.2021, as part of its youth work, TFC Ludwigshafen organized a job barbecue for training and careers on its club grounds on Parkinsel in Ludwigshafen, where HWG Ludwigshafen was also represented. The main idea behind the job barbecue is to bring together interested young people and regional employers and universities for a chat over burgers and sparkling drinks. Instead of recruiting and assessment tests, this alternative concept provides for an open exchange at eye level and is intended to support young people in choosing their training or study path after leaving school.
A total of 34 companies from the region presented themselves. Around 500 interested participants flocked to the association's premises. The university was represented by Ute Sahmel and Maxima Michler (both University Communications) and Prof. Dr. Birgit Angermayer (Department of Services and Consulting). The information brochures about the university's degree programs were in great demand. The red cloth bags with the university logo were also very popular, so that many visitors were spotted with these bags during the course of the evening.
The university plans to take part again next year.
