IBAITs for joint SCM project at the SAMK in Finland
From October 7 to 11, 24 students from the dual degree programs "International Business Administration and Information Technology (IBAIT)" at HWG LU went to Finland, more precisely to the city of Rauma. The group, led by Prof. Dr. Andreas Gissel, visited the Satakunta University of Applied Sciences (SAMK) in the city on the west coast of Finland for a week-long research seminar.
The international project is entitled "Sustainable Supply Chain Management Solutions for the Coffee Production Industry" and is taking place for the 26th time this year - for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic with a joint kick-off in presence. In addition to students from Ludwigshafen and Rauma, students from the College of Charleston (USA) and the Agricultural University of Athens (Greece) are also taking part in the project.
Over the coming months, the students from the four participating countries will be working on sustainable solutions for the supply network of a real Finnish company in the coffee industry. In addition to the students working together in international project groups, the opportunity to talk to the management of the local company partner and discuss challenges and possible solutions is a special feature of the project.
