A two-week stay on the campus of the University of West Florida marks the beginning of the 18-month study program for the new MBA group of Ludwigshafen University's Transatlantic Institute.
As every year, the professors and staff of UWF provided a warm welcome at the university's College of Business. The first two weeks of the MBA program served, among other things, to familiarize the students with the university and its guiding principles, and of course to get to know other students at the American university.
In addition to an introduction to scientific work, the program started with the first three MBA courses, which will now be completed in Ludwigshafen in the following months. The students also laid the foundation for their master's thesis, which consists of five portfolio papers. At the beginning, an industry is selected according to personal and professional interests, which is then analyzed from various entrepreneurially relevant perspectives during the course of the studies. This creates a direct link to practice and to the daily requirements of the job right from the start. Field reports from alumni also show that insights and results gained through portfolio papers are very well received by employers and have led to immediate career advancements.
In less than 17 months, the group will again embark on the journey across the Atlantic: In June 2017, they will complete the final 3 weeks of the so-called Capstone Course in Florida. The crowning Degree after a successful study is of course the ceremonial graduation as Master of Business Administration.
We wish them much success and an insightful study period!
