Prof. Dr. Andreas Gissel takes over as director of studies for the MBA in International Business Management

A new course director has been appointed for the part-time distance learning course International Business Management: Prof. Dr. Andreas Gissel will take on the new role in the winter semester 2021/22. The distance learning course at Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society (HWG) has been running successfully for many years in cooperation with the zfh - Zentrum für Fernstudium im Hochschulverbund (zfh) and the Graduate School Rhein-Neckar (GSRN).

Prof. Dr. Andreas Gissel (born 1965) studied industrial engineering at the University of Karlsruhe. After holding various professional positions, including at Robert Bosch GmbH, he successfully completed his doctorate in artificial intelligence at the University of Karlsruhe in 1998. In the same year, he joined SAP AG as an employee and head of implementation projects in the ERP area. Two years later, he took on the role of Global Support Manager in SAP AG's international consulting group. Since 2001, Dr Andreas Gissel has been Professor of Business Administration, in particular Logistics and Organization, in the Department of Marketing and Human Resources Management at what is now HWG in Ludwigshafen.

From 2015 to 2019, he also held the position of Vice President for International Affairs. In 2020, he received the Rhineland-Palatinate State Teaching Award for Excellence in Education, which is endowed with €10,000. "I really enjoy the exchange with the students on our MBA program," says Prof. Gissel. "Against the background of their practical experience, we discuss together which specific, innovative approaches can be developed for the challenges of international management. I am very much looking forward to being able to further develop our exciting MBA program strategically in the future."

The accredited, part-time MBA distance learning program International Business Management offers up-to-date, comprehensive know-how for a career in an internationally oriented professional environment. It is aimed at people who have already gained their first management experience or who aspire to a position in international management.

In addition to specialist business knowledge, the focus is on developing international leadership skills. Graduates also benefit from the development of personal networks with lecturers, fellow students and alumni.

The program is offered in German, in a blended learning approach, with integrated on-campus events, but also entirely in English. The curriculum is identical in both directions. For students on the English-language International Business Management program, all courses take place exclusively online. In cooperation with partner universities abroad, students also have the opportunity to obtain a recognized double degree, for example in Finland.

Students interested in distance learning can apply online to the zfh from November 2 for the upcoming summer semester 2022 at www.zfh.de/anmeldung.
