On 16 June 2020, 25 kids gathered in the university's PC pool for the winter semester's children's university lectures. The young students had already registered in the 2019 summer semester, but were unable to attend because there were so many registrations. We therefore offered the lectures again together with the lecturer Prof. Dr. Peer Küppers.
The topic of the lectures was Fancy programming with Scratch? - Are you ready to start? Then let's go...
The "programming" is very simple - a graphical plugging together of commands, which you can build up with the program from very simple to really complex. There are many more possibilities - for those who are looking for a challenge.
Using a textbook, of which each child was allowed to take a copy home at the end of the lectures, we got started. It was fun, the lecturer and our student assistant, Alexander, gave lots of help and after the lectures the kids were happy to try out their knowledge on their parents' computers.
We are now looking forward to the next two lectures with you on 22.1. (please do not register here) and on 28.1. - I am still accepting registrations here.
See you soon - best regards - your children's university team
