Skills in management and sustainability for a career with purpose: with this goal in mind, the Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society (HWG LU) is launching the new Master's degree course in Sustainability Management (M.Sc.) in the summer semester of 2025. The application deadline is February 1, 2025.
"We are seeing a fundamental change in the economy, with companies in all sectors placing sustainability at the heart of their strategies," emphasizes Prof. Dr. Nikolas Wölfing, Head of the Management, Controlling, Health Care Department. "This requires experts who can not only identify and manage sustainability aspects in the company, but also anchor them strategically and take the organization with them on this journey."
The degree programs combine management expertise with in-depth knowledge of sustainability. Core modules such as Sustainable Finance & Controlling, Strategic Management, Sustainable Innovations and International Aspects of Sustainability Management provide students with the practical skills they need to successfully plan and implement sustainability projects. Graduates acquire key skills in areas such as ESG Controlling & Certification, Business Intelligence & Data Analytics and Circular Design. The program is complemented by practice-oriented modules such as the ESG Innovation Project, which enables close cooperation with partner companies and the application of theoretical concepts.
A special highlight is the interdisciplinary nature of the degree programs: in addition to courses on environmental law and sustainable technology, the program also offers insights into global supply chains and international climate policy. This ensures that graduates are able to act on both a local and global level.
The Master's degree program in Sustainability Management is aimed at committed Bachelor's graduates who want to steer their career in a future-oriented direction and actively contribute to the sustainable transformation of companies. Applications are now open. Admission requirements include a Bachelor's degree in a relevant Department and a sound knowledge of English.
