Lecturer and member of the University Council Prof. Dr. Jörg Breitenbach develops a dietary supplement for diabetics together with tennis pro Alexander Zverev
In collaboration with the German tennis pro Alexander Zverev, probably the most prominent diabetic (type 1) in top-class sport, the renowned scientist and HWG LU honorary professor Prof. Dr. Jörg Breitenbach has developed gel gums that make it particularly easy to absorb micronutrients such as vitamins and minerals. Breitenbach and Zverev presented the innovative nutritional supplement together at the end of October in the run-up to the ATP 500 tournament in Vienna.
The special thing about the gel gums is that the micronutrients needed to regulate blood sugar levels are already pre-dissolved in them so that they can be absorbed by the body in a customized way. Unlike other dosage forms, there is no need to dissolve them in water or swallow tablets or capsules.
