Events and Workshops
The coordination body regularly organises events about “equal opportunities and diversity”. They do not only want to address a variety of topics from the higher education sector, but also aim to pick up on current sociopolitical discourses. Furthermore, they also touch on equal opportunities and diversity relevant issues from the economic context.

E-learning certificate course on the General Equal Treatment Act (AGG) and the Directive on Protection against Discrimination at the HWG LU
The university is a place where discrimination has no place. Mutual respect, appreciation, vibrant diversity and equal opportunities are values that are firmly anchored in our mission statement. Despite these values being anchored in the mission statement, we are aware that discrimination occurs time and again and that our university is not a completely discrimination-free space. This course is intended to help raise awareness of the guideline, which was adopted by the Senate in 2018, at the university, illustrate procedures and encourage those affected to seek advice from the contact points and report cases to the legal department.
Contents:
General Equal Treatment Act
- Basic principles
- Forms of discrimination
- Rights of those affected
- Possible sanctions
Directive on protection against discrimination
- Scope of application
- Differences to the General Equal Treatment Act
- Complaints procedure: non-formal procedure and formal complaints procedure
A certificate will be issued after the successful completion of a test laid out in the course.
The course was designed and implemented with great commitment by Prof. Claudia Kohl, Professor of Law and Human Resources in the Department of Marketing and Human Resources Management, as part of a project funded by the Diversity Department.
