What our MBA alumni say
David Scherpe (33), Branch Manager, ESCAD Group, father of 3 children
"MBA, Corporate Management - A course that deals with the practical challenges that go hand in hand with management positions with very well-developed course notes. The answering of individual questions on subject-specific topics is just as important as the support in organizational matters relating to the course. A great course that can also be combined with a part-time job..."

"Where do I study? What am I studying? Distance learning? Evening studies? Private or state university? I still had a lot of questions three years ago. I researched possible MBAs throughout Germany and compared all the "hard facts" with each other. The distance learning course in business management, with approx. 1 weekend of attendance per month, finally convinced me! In addition to the good structure, I was impressed by the focus of the degree programs: marketing and human resources management. In addition to the typical business administration subjects, you also study subjects such as intercultural communication and psychology. Almost all of the professors have a practical background and some have held key positions in well-known companies. The education is theoretically sound and described with real practical examples from the professors. Sometimes amusing, sometimes fascinating. You can very quickly incorporate the topics covered in the course into your everyday working life. I can therefore only recommend studying business management, it helps you a lot both professionally and personally!"
Vanessa Pfisterer, Financial Administration
"I started the MBA in Business Management at the Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society alongside my full-time job in financial administration. During the course of my first degree, I already had the feeling that I had been trained too one-sidedly. That's why this Master's program, which is designed for students without a first degree in business administration, was the ideal choice for me.
The very first contact after my application was very friendly and unbureaucratic. Due to the group size of approx. 15 - 20 students, the contact and exchange with fellow students, but especially with the professors, is very close. Ms. Nefen, the director, is always a committed and competent contact person who is always ready to listen to students' questions and problems.
The course itself is excellent in that it teaches theoretical principles using practical examples. For the most part, these are conveyed through the course notes and are already assumed and deepened on the attendance days. It takes a certain amount of self-discipline to learn the basics through self-study, but at no point did I feel like I couldn't manage my job and studies at the same time."

"The distance learning course in Marketing and Human Resources Management, degree programs in Business Management, offers many opportunities to find a very good start in professional life as a manager. On the one hand, the course is very multifaceted with its business fundamentals, on the other hand, you get to know approaches from the global world and learn, among other things, how important it is to promote understanding in an intercultural corporate context.
The most important reason for my decision to study at the University of Applied Science in Ludwigshafen am Rhein was the opportunity to acquire international skills in German and English. The theory was underpinned by the program of study trips to Morocco and China. The practice-oriented approach made it possible to broaden the field of vision and, in my opinion, serves for a better transition in professional life.
In the first four semesters, the knowledge of business administration is taught. This includes subjects such as business administration, economics and science, business management in general, social sciences with psychology and social skills as well as international leadership skills and international business management. Electives such as marketing, personnel management, finance and law provide a deeper insight and the seminar papers offer an exciting opportunity to deal with various practice-oriented topics.
The fifth semester is the Master's thesis semester. Here you can specialize in one topic or choose the topic of your employer. The study atmosphere is multi-cultural and very pleasant. The study team, especially Ms. Nefen, are always available as very friendly contacts. The professors are very friendly and always ready to help.
The Master's program was particularly interesting for me, as stays abroad and study trips are also part of the program. I was able to deepen my intercultural entrepreneurial knowledge and expand my skills."
Florian Weidner, Team Leader Project Management and Sales, KWM Weisshaar
"My conclusion: I would start studying in general again at any time, including at HWG-LU. On the one hand because everything went well and because I always felt comfortable there, and on the other hand because the price-performance ratio is very good. There are now a number of part-time Master's programs offered by other (private) providers, but the costs are sometimes many times higher than those at HWG-LU. To all prospective students: take courage, it's doable! If you can manage the first semester and get to grips with the way you learn, you can manage the rest!"
