International Business Administration with a focus on Management - Bachelor (Double Degree)
The Double Degree Program
We would like to give you the opportunity to earn a double degree in cooperation with Häme University of Applied Sciences, Finland (HAMK).
Upon successful completion of the program (i.e. passing the exams and writing the Bachelor's thesis), you will receive the Degree "Bachelor of Arts International BusinessAdministrationwith a major in Management" from HWG Ludwigshafen and the Degree "Bachelor of Business Administration" from HAMK.
Häme University of Applied Sciences
HAMK has a total of seven different campuses in the greater Helsinki area in southern Finland with approximately 7,800 students. HAMK's business school is located in Valkeakoski, about a 2-hour drive from Helsinki and 40 minutes from Tampere, Finland's third largest city. There are approximately 680 students here, and the many international students in particular add to the international flavor of the campus.
The equivalent program to BIM (there: International Business) is taught entirely in English at HAMK, so you don't have to worry if you can't speak Finnish.
A big difference to our German university system is that at HAMK only one module is taught at a time. This means that you have each module for about 8 to 9 weeks at a time, during which time you already write exams or assignments, and then you have the next module, again 8 to 9 weeks at a time. This enables you to deal intensively with the learning content - but it is certainly also an adjustment that you will definitely master well.

Procedure of the Double Degree Bachelor Program (DDBP)
The course of the DDBP depends on when you start your studies - because in Finland it is only possible to start at the new academic year, which begins around the end of August:
If you started your studies in the winter semester, you will spend the 5th and 6th semester in Finland. You will write your bachelor thesis in Finland and then return to Germany for the 7th semester and the last courses at HWG.
If you started your studies in the summer semester, you will spend the 6th and 7th semester in Finland. You will write your bachelor thesis in Finland and then - if you have successfully participated and passed all exams and coursework at HWG before - you will be done with your studies.
Requirements for the DDBP
In order to participate in the DDBP, you must meet a few requirements.
Students who started in the winter semester need:

- attendance of the international information event (date is 1 x per semester)
Students who started in the summer semester need:

*Proof of English language skills can be submitted after passing the Business English III exam
If there are more applicants than places, a ranking will be drawn up based on the grade point average.
Please note: The deadline for you is always January 15 of each year, so that you can also apply for an Erasmus grant, for example (please note, same deadline!). This means that you plan your stays abroad, including your double degree, a good year in advance!
Procedure of the stays abroad at HAMK
At the HAMK there is a predefined program which you will go through. The bachelor thesis will be handed in at the HAMK as well as at the HWG and needs a supervisor from Finland as well as from Germany.
