Project management:Prof. Dr. Bareis and Ms. Reinhard
Project duration:09/2014 - 02/2015; follow-up application: 03/2015 - 08/2015
Project description:

Interculturality and diversity in education at the Department of Social and Health Sciences - survey of the status quo as a possible starting point for the development of a coherent concept

For the past two years, the department has had on the agenda of various committees to determine the current situation with regard to interculturality and diversity in the degree programs and to discuss a common attitude and offering structure for the department.

This is less about the composition of the student body, which we already know for our department is very heterogeneous in terms of the diversity key points mentioned below. Rather, the focus is on the question of which diversity-related topics "appear" where and how in the curricula and in everyday education and learning situations.

The plan is to survey the status quo and existing ideas through interviews with lecturers and students in winter semester 2014/15.

For the summer semester 2015, the evaluation of the interviews is planned by entering them into a previously created topic matrix and discussing the results in the department's committees.

Target groups:All students. Teachers and degree programs in the Department of Social and Health Sciences.
Diversity dimensions:Diversity in education with reference to gender, ethnicity, class or social background, educational background, disability and age.
