Three mandatory criteria are a prerequisite for participation in the photo competition:

• No AI may be used for the creation of photos.
• The quality of the photo must be right (e.g. exposure, focus size, file format).
• The connection with the HWG LU must be recognizable (e.g. campus or event of the HWG LU).

In addition, the photos will be judged according to the following criteria

• Design/aesthetics: image structure and composition (10 points)
• Creativity: originality of the image idea, not 08/15 (10 points)
• Implementation of the motto: the motto should be clearly recognizable in the picture (10 points)
• Impact: the image should have a certain impact on the viewer (10 points)

The selection committee consists of an honorary student and three members of staff from the university.

• Participants:
  All students of the Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society may participate in the photo competition.
  
• Participation period: 14.04. - 31.05.2025 (submission by 31.05. at 23:30)
  
• Award ceremony: June 18 at 5:30 p.m.
  

• Submission of the pictures:
  All participants may submit a maximum of 3 photos. The photos must be taken with (at least) a 12 MP camera. Most cell phone cameras meet this requirement. The original file must be submitted as TIFF, PNG and RAW to avoid data loss. The winning photos will be printed on DIN A1 and exhibited at the university. We need the desired quality for this. The submission of AI-created photos is not permitted. As an APP, "Open Camera", for example, saves photos directly as PNG. A lot of data is lost when converting from JPEG to PNG. Therefore, the photos should be saved directly as PNG, TIFF or RAW.

  The photos must be submitted by the deadline and sent together with the image submission form (Download image submission form) must be uploaded to Seafile. You can request the link from Gabriele Baldauf (diversity@hwg-lu.de).

• Copyright and rights of use:
  By submitting images, participants confirm that they are the sole author of the photo, i.e. that they took the photo themselves and that the image is free from third-party rights.
  
• Personal rights - the right to one's own image:
  If people are recognizable in the photos, a declaration must be attached stating that you have the consent of the recognizable persons depicted to publish the photographs. An exception can be made for public events or if the groups of people are not the focus of the picture (see § Section 23 of the Art Copyright Act).   We recommend that you obtain a written declaration of consent from the persons depicted (Download declaration of consent).
  
• Rights of use:
  By participating, you grant HWG LU the right to use the photographs you submit free of charge. You confirm that the HWG LU may store, reproduce and make your photos publicly accessible for non-commercial purposes for an unlimited period of time. The copyright of the photographer remains unaffected. Publications will be made with your name.
  
• Personal data:
  Personal data will be processed and stored to the extent necessary to carry out the competition. By submitting your photos, you agree that the data provided (name, date and title of the submitted photos) may be published.
