Greeting from the dean
Welcome to the homepage of the Department of Social and Health Care.
Thank you for your interest in our degree programs in the fields of Social Work and Nursing/Health. With our degree programs, we contribute to securing skilled workers for the public task of providing services of general interest.
You will find the most important information about the degree programs on these pages. Our staff and lecturers are available to answer any further questions you may have. Program and service quality, advising and student support, especially in the perspective of supporting individually flexible courses of study, have a high priority in both fields of study.
In the field of Social Work, we offer the Bachelor's degree course in Social Work (B.A.) and the consecutive Master's degree course in Social Work (M.A.). Both degree programs focus on social sciences and are designed as full-time courses.
The Department of Nursing and Health has responded to the changes in the legal framework. Since the winter semester 2021/22, we have been offering the Bachelor's degree course in Midwifery Science. This degree program leads to state certification as a midwife and the academic degree Bachelor of Science.
Since winter semester 2022/2023, the newly designed primary qualifying Bachelor's degree course in Nursing (B.Sc.) has been offered. Upon graduation from this degree program, students are awarded a professional nursing license and a Bachelor of Science degree.
The previous degree program in Nursing Education has also been redesigned and will be offered consecutively as a Bachelor's and Master's degree program from summer semester 2022. This offer is supplemented by the Master's degree course in Innovative Care Practice in Nursing and Midwifery (M.A.).
