Quality understanding & Quality culture
Quality cannot be defined uniformly or from the outside. It is based on a common understanding among university members. The understanding of quality is therefore based on a common discourse among university members, which is constantly developing and changing in discussions and reflections on quality. A university-specific quality culture is created in particular within the framework of a continuous exchange and a constructive debate about the university's own goals, the understanding of the achievement of goals and the reflection of the measures taken. Within the university, the understanding of quality can be expressed differently depending on the context in which quality is discussed (e.g. in the degree programs, in the Departments or at university level). The focus of the quality discourse in the area of studies and education is initially on degree programs.
In addition, profile development and the definition and implementation of university-wide goals are of central importance for the successful and sustainable development of our university. In addition to the degree programs, the Departments, the University (University Management/Senate) and the administrative departments and operating units also define goals and further develop their understanding of quality. Within the quality assurance and development system of our university, these goals are communicated and compared with each other through exchange and discussion in order to further sharpen the university's profile and to concretize the university-wide goals, especially those from the mission statement.
