From October 21 - 29, a delegation trip to Japan took place under the leadership of Rhineland-Palatinate Minister President Malu Dreyer. OAI Institute Director Prof. Dr. Frank Rövekamp, who had organized the delegation's visit to the partner university Sophia University in Tokyo, also took part.
In the wake of geopolitical developments, Japan, with its strong innovation and democratic government, has once again become the focus of German politics and business. The main topics of the trip were related to important current trends and events. For example, a good two years after the Ahr Valley disaster, it was important to learn about disaster forecasting and management systems that are used in Japan for its many natural events such as earthquakes, volcanoes, tsunamis and typhoons.
