In a ceremony at the Prinzregententheater Ludwigshafen and together with sponsors, relatives and friends, 30 students of the Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society (HWG LU) received the coveted Germany Scholarship in recognition of their outstanding academic and voluntary achievements on Wednesday, October 25, 2023. This means that the scholarship holders can look forward to a monthly grant of 300 euros for the duration of one year.
This year, 161 students applied for the Deutschlandstipendium. The 30 selected scholarship holders received their scholarship certificates from the hands of university president Prof. Dr. Gunther Piller on Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2023. The monthly scholarship of 300 euros gives students more financial freedom to concentrate even better on their studies.
In his welcoming address, University President Piller emphasized how important it is to support people who, despite their social commitment and private challenges, manage their studies with a great deal of willingness to perform. "The Deutschlandstipendium is a very good instrument to further encourage the scholarship holders in what they do," Piller said.
Gunther Piller also addressed his thanks to the sponsors, without whom the Deutschlandstipendium would not be possible: after all, it is they who support the scholarship with 150 euros per month, thus providing a total of 300 euros together with 150 euros from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.

Following the official part, both the scholarship holders and the sponsors present had the opportunity to exchange ideas in an initial discussion. This was taken up very actively. With a glass of sparkling wine and delicious appetizers, the scholarship holders were also able to celebrate their Deutschlandstipendium together with family members and friends. This year, the celebration took place in a very special ambience. The Prinzregententheater Ludwigshafen was the host. The scholarship holders experienced a special evening together with their sponsors and guests. After the presentation of the certificates, the play "Hirn + Mann = Adonis" was the highlight of the evening. At this point, our thanks go to the actors and the entire team of the theater.
From mid-April 2024, interested students can apply for the next funding round of the Deutschlandstipendium at HWG LU.
