After the successful re-opening at the end of March, the start-up office also resumed the tradition of the Start-up Tuesday at HWG LU yesterday. Guests were Rouven Fichte and Lars Schwab, who founded the agency zeitgeist when they finished their marketing studies at HWG LU in 2019. They returned, so to speak, to where it all began, because in fact the foundation for zeitgeist was laid with a business case in the elective module "Entrepreneurship" in the 6th semester. The lecturer at the time was Prof. Dr. Christina Stadler, who now heads the start-up office at HWG LU and had invited the two to the new edition of the Start-up Tuesday.
In an entertaining presentation, the two HWG LU alumni traced the path that led them in just four years to an established company in the agency industry, which is now based in Mannheim, employs 20 people, generates seven-figure revenues and counts more than 30 eCommerce brands among its clients. With social ads on Instagram, Tiktok & Co. zeitgeist supports them in developing and implementing a suitable brand and growth strategy.
The presentation and the subsequent Q&A session therefore focused on what makes successful brands and what is important when you want to start up. Lars Schwab looked back on his education at HWG LU with great appreciation and stated that he had taken much more with him from his studies than one would expect during his time there. In addition to the basics of business administration and an understanding of numbers, it was above all the marketing expertise that helped him to build up his own company. This is probably one of the reasons why he concluded: "Studying marketing was great, and I would definitely do it again.
