On Saturday, May 13, 2023, the HWG LU hosted the "University Information Day" (HIT) on the campus in Ludwigshafen-Mundenheim from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. At the same time, the university's Graduate School Rhein-Neckar (GSRN) also held its "Continuing Education Day" there. Well over 400 visitors took the opportunity to find out about the entire range of courses on offer, from Bachelor's and Master's to part-time MBA programs, and to get to know the joint campus of HWG LU and GSRN.
Prospective students had the best opportunity to get to know the Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society at the University Information Day (HIT) on Saturday, May 13, 2023, on the campus in Ernst-Boehe-Straße.
The four Departments provided information about the more than 40 degree programs with a focus on Business Administration, Social and Health Sciences. The East Asia Institute, the Neustadt Wine Campus, the General Students' Committee (AStA), the GSRN, the Behavioral Science Research Laboratory and the International Office also presented themselves. The Student Service Center provided advice on application modalities and admisson requirements. The agenda also included taster lectures, information presentations, campus tours, a meet-the-students lounge and a varied accompanying program. The canteen, cafeteria and library were also open so that visitors could get a comprehensive picture of the university. And the new building, which is expected to be ready for occupancy in fall 2023, could already be seen at least from the outside or at the poster exhibition.
The new Bachelor's degree program in Business Psychology attracted particular interest this year: over 70 interested people listened to the information presentation by Prof. Dr. Gerhard Raab and Prof. Dr. Klaus Blettner to introduce the degree programs, which will start for the first time in the winter semester 2023/2024. 19-year-old Julia also came all the way from Mannheim across the Rhine: "I'm studying business psychology in my first semester at a private university, but it would be very interesting to transfer to a state university." She could well imagine transferring to Ludwigshafen, she explained. Her friend Liv has already secured a place at HWG LU and is starting the dual Bachelor's degree course in International Business Administration in the winter semester. "I wanted to take a look at the campus before the semester started," she says and adds: "I like the family atmosphere and that everything is so close together." Metin was also impressed by the HIT and the advice on offer: the student from Baden-Württemberg was interested in studying logistics in Ludwigshafen and received extensive advice on the various options at HWG LU - from the normal to the dual Bachelor's to the consecutive Master's, MBA or distance learning course - at the Management & Consulting Department's information stand.
The meet-the-students lounge in the outdoor area, which was offered for the first time, was also a nice highlight: here, prospective students could talk to students in an informal setting over cold drinks and snacks - an offer that was gladly accepted: "Can you recommend the university?" "Is it easy to get through?" "Can you manage to work as a student trainee alongside your studies?" "What about internships?" "Are there modules in companies?" - were just some of the questions, as Benedikt Lüth, Master's student of Business Informatics, and Jamaica Pablo, student of Social Work and active in the AStA, reported.
