The AStA took care of the physical well-being on the sports day with a drinks and waffle stand, as well as the Studierendenwerk Vorderpfalz with the [koeri]werk.
For a small participation fee, the AStA organised pretzels, apples and drinks for all players. There were also great prizes for the winning teams, so that all the places were quickly booked up.
The day started with a people kicker tournament in the car park next to the A-building. Three teams competed for victory in the fun kick. Around 11:00 a.m., the winner was determined: the team Rice and Potatoes won first place. Second and third place went to Team IMI and the Kampfschnecken.
In the afternoon, more than 40 students competed against each other on the Blies meadow in fantastic weather and a good atmosphere. The 8 teams were cheered on by an enthusiastic audience. Besides the soccer field, there were numerous activities such as badminton, can throwing or Frisbee, so that everyone had a lot of fun. The unifying effect that football can have also became clear on this day. So it was particularly nice to see that many different student groups took part in the event and kicked respectfully with each other.
Team Mourabitoun emerged as the winner of the exciting tournament, Team Bluelock came in 2nd place and Team FC Lieberampool was the 3rd winner.
The subsequent award ceremony took place in the car park, where the teams could fortify themselves with a currywurst and chips.
The day was organised by the AStA and the International and Diversity departments. The latter mainly took care of the permits with the city of Ludwigshafen and ensured that the tournament was run by a well-trained coach and referee.
Everyone was enthusiastic about the success and the positive feedback on the event, so that there was quickly agreement that there should be another sports day next year.
