Prof. em. Dr. Peter Klümper, former dean of the Ludwigshafen department in the University of Applied Sciences of Rhineland-Palatinate (1975-1979 and 1991-1995 ), long-timeProfessor of Business Administration at the university and highly esteemed colleague, passed away on February 7, 2022 at the age of 84.
Professor Dr. Peter Klümper worked for nearly three decades as a professor of business administration at the University of Applied Sciences in Ludwigshafen and was exceptionally active in the university's self-government.
As dean of the Ludwigshafen department in the former University of Applied Sciences of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate, he was instrumental in the successful transition for the Ludwigshafen site to independence as the Ludwigshafen University of Applied Sciences during the terms of office from 1975-1979 and 1991-1995.
He was awarded the University Medal of the Ludwigshafen University of Applied Sciences for his special services.
Professor Klümper continued to be closely connected to the university after his retirement and took over the coordination of the so-called Professor Circle a few years ago, in which emeritus and active professors as well as employees of the university met once or twice a semester for an exchange at the university. He also enjoyed taking part in the Professor*innen-Wanderungen.
The university owes a great deal to Professor Klümper and his extraordinary commitment. He played a key role in shaping it as a modern educational and scientific institution at a crucial time and was highly respected throughout the college and among the staff.
"It was a great pleasure that Prof. Klümper was present at our celebratory event for the 50th anniversary of the university on September 16 last year and was able to give an authentic account of the important development phase of the university between 1979 and 1995 to Minister President Malu Dreyer and Minister of Science Clemens Hoch," recalls university president Prof. Dr. Peter Mudra.
The university and all those who knew him will remember Professor Klümper fondly and honor his memory. We extend our sympathy and special condolences to his family.
