Member of the Bundestag Prof. Dr. Armin Grau (Bündnis 90/Die Grünen) visited the Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society on Tuesday, November 2, 2022. Together with University President Prof. Dr Gunther Piller and Prof. Dr Joachim von der Heide, Head of the Bachelor's degree course in Nursing, he engaged in a professional discussion about the academization of nursing, which is considered necessary by all those involved due to social changes and structural adjustments in healthcare.
As a member of the Health Committee in the Bundestag, Grau informed himself about the current status of the Bachelor's degree course in Nursing, which was launched at HWG LU's Department IV in the 2022/23 winter semester. The primary qualifying degree program was established with funding from the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. During his visit, Grau emphasized his desire to continue to advocate for the academization of the nursing profession at state and federal level in order to create further opportunities for the further development and professionalization of one of the largest occupational groups in Germany.
