KNOWLEDGE
Is the Bachelor IPO an open-admission or admission-restricted program?
The IPO is an admission-restricted bachelor's degree program. This means that the number of study places is limited. Study places are allocated via NC or waiting semesters.
Allocation of study places via NC or waiting semesters
Study places are allocated 80% via NC and 20% via waiting list.
The key date for calculating waiting times is the date of qualification for university entrance. For example, vocational training after qualification for university entrance counts as a waiting period. Every half year counts as a waiting semester.
Waiting semesters do not count:
Waiting periods before obtaining the qualification for university entrance. For example, vocational training prior to qualification for university entrance does not count as a waiting period.
Two ranking lists are drawn up, one according to NC and one according to waiting semesters. All applicants are considered in both ranking lists. NC ranking list: here the 1st criterion is the grade, the 2nd criterion is the waiting time. In the waiting time ranking list, the criteria are taken into account in exactly the opposite way.
The NC lists from previous semesters can be viewed here .
Please note that previous application procedures can never be used to predict current ones and therefore no forecasts are possible.
Where do I apply?
The application for the Bachelor IPO takes place via the "Registration in the portal of the DoSV".
DoSV - The Dialog-Oriented Service Procedure
The application procedures for all undergraduate degree programs in the federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate are carried out via the so-called DoSV of the Foundation for University Admissions. The main aim of this is to make the best possible use of the universities' capacities so that as many applicants as possible receive a study place.
Please note that an application via the DoSV is complex, as you can apply for several degree programs. Therefore, please read all the information about the application process on our university application pages as well as on the registration and application pages on Hochschulstart !
