Personnel development" as a personnel management sub-function represents a relevant topic within the framework of the International Personnel Management and Organization (IPO) degree program, which is dealt with comprehensively in the 6th semester. Particularly in practice, systematic personnel development is becoming increasingly important when it comes to providing strategic contributions to personnel work and corporate success in the context of the challenges of a shortage of skilled workers and new work.
With a new format, Prof. Dr. Peter Mudra wants to bring together the university with its students on the one hand and practitioners and experts on the other. Talking about important and current HR development topics in the form of PE Talks takes place at a low threshold as an online event (Zoom Meeting) in a one-hour session in the evening.
The first guest in this new series in the summer semester of 2023 was the long-time head of HR development and training at Sparkasse Vorderpfalz, Ms. Tatjana Kamrad. She has long been involved with the university on a volunteer basis, particularly as chair of the "Förderer der Hochschule für Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft Ludwigshafen" association.
Ms. Kamrad, who has a degree in business administration, first used her career as an example to present the diverse requirements associated with the role of human resources developers. The lively exchange with the students then focused in particular on the concepts and experiences in the area of competence development and management development. Ms. Kamrad clarified the strategic responsibility for transformation processes associated with her leadership role for the individual topics and demonstrated the concrete derivation of personnel development measures in a way that was easy for the students to understand. With many examples from her everyday life, she was able to impressively convey to the students her desire to work in the "exciting field of personnel development" and certainly gave them a lot to take with them for their upcoming entry into the profession.
