Approximately 20 applicants are admitted each semester. 

IHRM is an admission-restricted Master's degree program. This means that the content-related criteria, such as proof of English proficiency, are checked by the Department, or more precisely by the program director. The formal examination (including the correctness and completeness of the application documents) is then carried out centrally by the Student Service Center (SSC). The applicants are then selected.

The study places are allocated 80% via NC and 20% via waiting list. 
The key date for calculating waiting times is the date of the Bachelor's certificate. Every half year counts as a waiting semester. 
Waiting semesters do not count:

• Further enrollments Bachelor's or Master's degree programs.
•  Waiting periods before the first successful degree.

Two ranking lists are created, one according to NC and one according to waiting semesters. All applicants are considered in both ranking lists. NC ranking list: here the 1st criterion is the grade, the 2nd criterion is the waiting time. In the waiting time ranking list, the criteria are taken into account in exactly the opposite way.
