How does the selection process work?
From the applications submitted in due form and time, the scholarship selection committee selects the applications that can be accepted for funding in accordance with the selection criteria set out in the "Statutes of Worms University of Applied Sciences for the awarding of Deutschlandstipendien". The selection committee also selects further applications according to the same criteria, which move up in a ranking determined by it if applications included in the selection are subsequently withdrawn or cannot be approved for other reasons.
The scholarship selection committee consists of the following ex officio members
- the President or a person appointed by the President as chairperson,
- the Central Equal Opportunities Officer in an advisory capacity.

- three university lecturers (1 member from each Department)
- one student,
- one academic or non-academic member of staff.

Will other income count toward the stipend?
The Deutschlandstipendium is granted regardless of income.
Will the scholarship reduce the BaföG?
The Deutschlandstipendium has no effect on BaföG support.
Are parallel promotions possible?

Revocation of a scholarship award
The granting of the scholarship is to be revoked with at least six weeks' notice to the end of a calendar month if the scholarship holder has not complied with the obligation under Section 10 (2) and (3) of the Scholarship Program Act or receives further funding contrary to Section 4 (1) of the Scholarship Program Act or if the university determines during the examination that the aptitude or talent and performance requirements for the scholarship no longer continue to exist. Scholarship holders introduce themselves
Words like "should have", "would have", "later" are all excuses for me and so I live under the motto "do". It has always been important to me to be involved in other activities besides learning. No matter if it was the activity of the course speaker at the high school or the university, the membership of the senate or responsibility in my part-time job. So the day I heard about my acceptance was special for me. I couldn't believe it at first, but my scholastic achievements and extracurricular involvement helped me become a part of the 2020 Scholars. It's a nice recognition of all the achievements you've already made in your life so far and motivates me to keep doing my best every day. The special thing about the Deutschlandstipendium is that its motto is "Connecting people". This means that every student, regardless of whether they are in the Bachelor's or Master's program, has the opportunity to get into closer contact with companies. Such insights into a previously unknown industry are interesting and valuable for later life. Unfortunately, the Corona virus makes this process a bit more difficult, but thanks to the increasing digitalization, it does not prevent us from maintaining contact in order to be able to gain further insights at a later stage. The financial support enables me to fully concentrate on my studies as well as to put money aside for my stay abroad.
Karolin Epstein, Germany Scholarship Holder 2020/2021
"I am a native Ukrainian, studied law in Ukraine and worked as a corporate lawyer. In 2018, I moved to Germany and initially attended an intensive language course. Since March 2019, I have been studying "Taxation and Auditing" at HWG Ludwigshafen.
The Deutschlandstipendium enables me to focus optimally on my university education and to develop professionally. I have already taken part in two further training courses offered by DATEV in the field of "Payroll Accounting" and have come closer to my professional dream of becoming a tax consultant.
I am very grateful for the support of our sponsors. Their commitment is impressive!"
Svitlana Fedko, Germany Scholarship Holder 2019/2020
In the meantime, a few months have passed since the scholarship handover ceremony, and for me it still represents a great recognition of my achievement and, moreover, motivation to continue doing my best. The support has allowed me to focus more on my academic life and less on the financial aspects. I notice this especially in the current phase, in which I can hardly keep up with my working student job due to Corona. Therefore, I would like to emphasize once again at this point that I am extremely grateful.
There was a meeting between my sponsor MLP and me at the beginning of the year, which was really an interesting exchange for me. As it is in my case, I think it's good that as a scholarship holder you have a fixed contact person at the sponsoring company. I had no need for more support from the university, or I had the feeling that I could have approached you at any time if I had needed more support. Overall, the payments were also made regularly.
