Scientific training on dementia
Dear Colleagues,
People with dementia pose major challenges for nurses in all care settings. In order to be able to respond professionally to the specific needs of these people and their family caregivers, care professionals need extensive competencies.
The certificate course "Care strategies and psychosocial support for living with dementia (at home)" qualifies you to provide professional care for people with dementia and to carry out understanding diagnostics in a professional manner. This is the basis for evidence-based care (according to expert standards), which specifically includes the perspective of those affected in the care process. You will be able to provide competent advice to people with dementia and their relatives and lead case discussions in which you train your care team on a case-by-case basis.
The training is based on the person-centered approach according to Kitwood and supports dementia care according to the current expert standard. It provides in-depth knowledge in theory and practice about the special needs of people with dementia and their relatives.
The certificate course takes place in block seminars and accompanying online events. In addition, you will deepen individual topics by working on two study letters and complete a practical project (in-service) on a topic of your own choice. You will be closely supervised by the respective lecturers and tutors. At the end of the course you will receive a certificate.
The scientific continuing education is accredited by the registration of professional nurses and certified with up to 40 continuing education points.
Expand your knowledge and qualify as a dementia consultant. We look forward to seeing you at HWG Ludwigshafen.
