In a festive ceremony, 21 students of the Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society, together with sponsors, relatives and friends, received the coveted Germany Scholarship in recognition of their outstanding academic and voluntary achievements. This means that the scholarship holders can look forward to a monthly grant of 300 euros for the duration of one year.
This year, 106 students applied for the Deutschlandstipendium. The 21 selected scholarship holders received their certificates from the hands of university president Prof. Dr. Peter Mudra on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2019. The monthly scholarship of 300 euros provides students with additional financial freedom, making it easier for them to focus more on their studies.
In his welcoming address to those present, Prof. Dr. Peter Mudra emphasized how important it is to support people who, despite their social commitment and private challenges, manage their studies with a great deal of willingness to perform. The Deutschlandstipendium, he said, is a very good instrument for encouraging scholarship holders to continue their efforts.
Mudra also directed his thanks to the sponsors who make the Deutschlandstipendium possible in the first place: "After all, they are the ones who support the Deutschlandstipendium with 150 euros per month and thus, together with 150 euros from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, provide a total amount of 300 euros." Mudra also made it clear that the Deutschlandstipendium represents an opportunity for companies and institutions to retain skilled workers at an early stage. The social commitment that can be perceived as a result can also make a significant contribution to employer attractiveness - another positive aspect from the point of view of the sponsors.
The long-standing sponsors include MLP Finanzberatung SE, Lotto-Stiftung RLP, Meininger Verlag, Karl Joseph Wagner-Stiftung, the University Council of the Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society and, since 2017, the Förderverein Gesundheitsökonomie at the Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society. As in the previous year, Fasihi GmbH Ludwigshafen and HR-Consulting GmbH have again agreed to sponsor Germany Scholarships in 2019. New additions are also Sparkasse Vorderpfalz, Berkel AHG, Fahrrad XXL Kalker, Schloss Wachenheim AG, Stiftung Marburger Medien and a private sponsor. University President Mudra expressly thanked the scholarship holders for their commitment and the financial resources provided, also on behalf of the scholarship holders.
