Student ID card at the Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society
The student ID card is digital and is integrated into the HWG-LU app.
In order to receive the digital student ID, the "HWG-LU App" must first be installed.
This app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store: "HWG-LU App" (UniNow GmbH).
The IT Service Center explains the first steps with the app in a quick guide.
Important: The payment function and library card are expected to be integrated into the "HWG-LU App" in the course of the summer semester 2025. Transitional library/payment cards will be issued to first semester students. These cards are valid until 28.02.2025.
Existing "StudiCards" (card version of the student ID card issued until SoSe 2024) will be used as library/payment cards until the digital student ID card has also taken over this function. In the event of loss or defect, a new StudiCard will not be issued, but a library/payment card will be issued.
There is no need to validate the StudiCard for the summer semester 2025!
Photo for the digital student ID card
Please upload a passport photo of yourself for your digital student ID.
Time of the photo upload:
1) The photo upload can be done during online en rollment in the application portal. Uploading the passport photo is the third last step "Upload photo" in the "Apply for enrollment" process.
OR
2) Once you have enrolled, you can upload your passport photo in your personal student portal under: "My studies", "Student services", "Pictures" tab.
Requirements for the photo:
- Format JPG
- Width: at least 400 pixels
- Height: at least 500 pixels
- Size: max. 1 MB
"StudiCard" - payment function (canteen & library) and topping up
In the canteen, you can currently pay with your StudiCard, library/payment card and in cash.
The cards can be topped up at rechargers near the canteen and at the cafeteria cash desk (B building).
In the library, payment is currently only possible with the StudiCard or library/payment card.
