Good technical equipment is essential for studying. Due to the current situation, many lectures will take place virtually.

During the course of studies, presentations will be created, online examinations will take place and term papers will be written .

We recommend that all students have a well-functioning notebook/PC and a stable internet connection.

Cell phones and tablets are aids, but do not replace a PC!

Students can register with Microsoft and use Office 365 free of charge:

Students can receive discounts for both hardware and software, information on which can be found at IT Service Center / Wissenswertes .

It is not necessary to purchase books and other literature before starting your studies. All lecturers provide information about necessary materials in their lectures or use the OLAT e-learning platform. Lecture materials such as lecture notes and recommended reading are made available there.

You will receive all important information during the introductory week.

Tip: Programmable calculators are not allowed in the math exam ;), so it is not necessary to buy an expensive calculator!

New students also receive an intensive introduction to library research during the first semester. In addition to its constantly expanding range of books and e-books, the library has numerous specialist journals in printed and electronic form, daily newspapers and important specialist databases available for use. You can find lots of detailed information and useful tips and tricks on our library pages.
