Work together or find time for yourself: The functional rooms of the HWG LU
In addition to modern lecture and seminar rooms, HWG LU offers its students numerous rooms that can be used as required: To get creative, to concentrate on a group presentation or to relax for a while.

Up to 28 students can work alone or together in this room, which was generously co-financed by the Verein Förderer der Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society e.V.. There are high tables, lounges and a seating staircase as well as a writable wall and a mobile smart board. Video shoots are also possible in this room.

Study and work rooms in the library: achieving more together (ground floor of the C building)
In our new library, students have access to numerous individual workstations as well as cubes (with and without high tables) and group rooms (6-12 people) for working together. All rooms are equipped with a TV set (e.g. for presentations). In addition, a media package (whiteboard marker, remote control, USB-C/HDMI cable, instructions) can be borrowed from the information desk with the library card. The rooms allow you to work together undisturbed, but are not soundproof.
Bookings can be made online:

Experimental rooms: experience "New Work" live (B 01 & B02 on the ground floor of the B building)
In a creative and dynamic environment, you can develop new ideas in the two experimental spaces "Ideenwald" and "Wellenwerk" in the spirit of New Work, work together collaboratively and leave entrenched thought structures behind. There is space for 25 (Ideenwald - B.01) and 15 (Wellenwerk - B.02) people.
These special spaces were funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research as part of our joint EMPOWER project and set up under the leadership of the Institute for Employment and Employability (IBE).
The declared aim of EMPOWER is to promote the research-based transfer of ideas, knowledge and technology with business and society in the Rhine-Main-Neckar region. To this end, numerous activities are planned in the two new experimental rooms for companies from the region, but also for schoolchildren, for example. The rooms can also be used for internal university purposes when they are free, for example for individual lectures, workshops or further education courses.
Students can get to know the rooms as part of courses if their lecturers book them in advance.

Room of silence: mediation, slowing down and prayer (room B109 on the 1st floor of the B building)
The Room of Silence offers the opportunity to slow down, reflect and pray. It is not a work or meeting room. You are not allowed to work, eat or drink in it.
Anyone entering the Room of Silence does so mindfully and takes off their street shoes so as not to soil the carpet. The focus is on use by individuals. It can be used by groups of up to four people by mutual agreement.
If you would like to use the washbasin, please bring your own towel. There is also a coat rack, a shoe rack, two Paravent walls and four meditation cushions. The meditation cushions are locked in the cupboard. The key can be borrowed from the information center.
The Room of Silence is accessible during the university's opening hours. The contact person is Petra Schorat-Waly.
Booking and terms of use
The current usage concept does not provide for the room to be reserved at specific times. Please note that the room furnishings may not be changed. The Room of Silence is committed to neutrality, so no posters or (religious and/or political) symbols may be displayed in the room (e.g. pictures, writings).
The terms of use were drawn up together with interested students and the university chaplaincy. You can find them HERE.
