Project "Development and implementation of SABD-Fam"

As part of Germany's National Dementia Strategy, Malteser International has commissioned the pilot project "Specialized outpatient support for people with dementia and their families" (SABD-Fam). It will run for 18 months from November 2023 to April 2025.

The Department of Social and Health Care at the Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society is carrying out sub-project 1 "Development and implementation of SABD-Fam". The project is testing the new SABD-Fam care concept using participatory methods in two Malteser facilities in the Ostalbkreis district in close cooperation with local stakeholders and those affected.

At the same time, sub-project 2 at the Witten site of the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) is working on a systematic process evaluation in order to create the basis for a future effectiveness study of SABD-Fam as a complex intervention.
