- Exemption from broadcasting fees from the time of application: Contrary to popular belief, you do not have to wait for the BAföG benefit notification to be exempted from the obligation to pay fees. If you want to secure your entitlement to exemption from fees from the beginning of your grant period, you need to submit a "precautionary application for exemption" (see homepage below). If the GEZ has received such an application, proof of exemption (BAföG notification) can be submitted at a later date without any disadvantage to the applicant.

- KfW Student Loan: Program start on 1.4.2006: The KfW Student Loan helps students to finance their living expenses during their first degree. A maximum of 650 EURO per month over 14 semesters is possible. It can also be combined with other funding such as BAföG or educational loans.
