Semester abroad BCO
Are you planning to complete an integrated semester abroad during your studies? Then this page is the right place for you. Here you will find all the necessary information about the preparation, follow-up and recognition of your semester abroad.
The voluntary semester abroad takes place in the 5th semester of the BCO degree programs. In order for your semester abroad to be recognized as an integrated semester abroad, you must complete a number of formalities before and after the semester abroad.
Before the semester abroad, you must fulfill the following minimum requirements:
- Participation in the semester abroad information event(usually in the 3rd semester).
- Proof that you have passed all module examinations in the first two semesters of study
- English B2 certificate
- Approval of the coursework to be completed abroad
- first submit to the Departments including course descriptions and transcript of records
- After approval, submit thisto the International Office at the latest with your application for the semester abroad
After the semester abroad, the following formalities must be completed for recognition of the semester abroad:
- Certificate of enrollment from the foreign university
- Certificate of passed, pre-approved academic achievements amounting to 30 credits (ECTS)
- Conversion of grades from the International Affairs section
- at least 5 DIN A-4 page experience report, usually in English
- no later than the 1st week of lectures of the following semester
- Questionnaire about the semester abroad
- Presentation of the semester abroad
- Application for recognition of examination achievements during the semester abroad

All documents both before and after the semester abroad must be submitted to the Department!!!
